Many Ghanaian graduates abroad do menial jobs because certificates don’t work – Flowking Stone

Flowking Stone, a popular Ghanaian Hiplife musician, has given his thoughts on why many Ghanaians wind up performing menial tasks like washing dishes and changing vehicle tires when they travel overseas.

Most university degrees received in Ghana, he claims, are not recognized or acknowledged in other countries, making it difficult to secure a formal employment.

Flowking Stone disputed reports that he was conducting similar services in the UK, where he presently resides, during an interview on Cape-Coast-based Property FM.

He stated that he had discovered that certification was extremely essential in the United Kingdom, and that most Ghanaians had to start from scratch when they arrived there.

He went on to say that this is why many of them choose employment that do not require certification, which he considers to be a good thing.

”I don’t wash car tyres here in the UK and I’m not doing any menial jobs like washing of the cooking utensils which is also not bad at all. But here in the UK, what I’ve realized is about certification and most certificates we acquire in Ghana don’t work here outside the country.

“That’s the reason why most people resort to doing menial jobs that don’t need certification here abroad and so you have to start afresh,” he said.
